The Minds Behind Utileyes
Our leadership team combines 50+ years of utility operations experience with cutting-edge software expertise. More importantly, we've all felt the pain of broken inspection workflows firsthand.
With nearly a decade of experience as a partner and Co-Founder at Mile High Drones, our co-founder has overseen thousands of drone inspections for electric utilities across the country. His deep roots in utility fieldwork and project execution gave him firsthand insight into the inefficiencies and limitations that linemen, asset managers, and drone pilots face when using traditional inspection workflows. Frustrated with clunky systems and fragmented processes, he set out to help utilities take control of their own inspection programs with a smarter, simpler solution.
Another member of our founding team brings extensive experience managing utility systems, including Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and enterprise data pipelines. Having held senior roles at both public utilities and financial institutions, he’s led data engineering, system design, and analytics efforts for large-scale operations. His deep understanding of utility data needs helps ensure that Utileyes is not only technically sound, but also built to solve real operational problems.
Our third co-founder has led cloud services and automation for a major global player in the smart grid and energy space. With a background in software development, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure, he brings technical depth and agile thinking to our platform architecture. He has spearheaded digital transformation projects in both startups and enterprises, always with an emphasis on performance, simplicity, and user-focused design.
CJ Thomsen leads marketing and customer experience at Utileyes, blending innovation with operational precision. A former U.S. Air Force Director of Operations overseeing 125+ Airmen, CJ brings proven leadership and strategic insight to every customer interaction. His background in aviation, entrepreneurship, and brand development drives Utileyes’ mission to deliver clear, impactful solutions for utilities and drone operations.
